This is Koda Kumi’s 36th single and was released on June 27, 2007. It reached #1 on the Orcion Charts and has sold 195,322 copies.
FREAKY starts off with some ambient music until the electric guitar and Koda Kumi make an appearance. Out of all the singles released for the Kingdom album, I think this has to be the weakest. There really isn’t anything too special about this song, but it has an addicting melody, and I just loved how Koda just yelled “Get freaky” throughout the chorus. The males vocals were also (surprisingly) a good addition along with the adlibbing at the end.
The first B-Side, Sora is a bubblegum pop song, and I loved it. It’s just so adorable and carefree, and that gentle airy synth (I guess?) made me think of Maple Story. In addition, the song is pretty infectious, and I liked how even though it was bubblegum pop song, it didn’t sound stupid or silly.
Run For Your Life has much more of a spunky feel to it, thanks to the addicting beats played in the beginning. I loved the strong vocals from Koda during the chorus, and I thought the feel of the pre-chorus was pretty interesting since it takes on a different feel from the rest of the songs.
Alright everyone, sorry. I know I promised you guys I wouldn’t do this, but I haven’t heard the B-side girls. Sorry about that.
