GOD DAMNIT AYAKA. WHY ARE YOU SO GOOD AT MAKING ME CRY? (or almost making me). Jewelry Day is possibly one of ayaka’s most emotional song to that (even beating Mikazuki!). While the arrangement is rather simple, I loved it (even though it took a while to grow on me). All it really consists of is an acoustic guitar that makes me think of a really lonely day on a beach in Hawaii and the sun is just about to set. While it may not be as grand as Mikazuki, there’s something about this song that I just love. Thanks to the simplicity of the music, ayaka really gets to showcase her voice, and she gives another emotional performance in this song. An interesting thing to note is that at the end where ayaka stops singing, the acoustic guitar is completely removed and replaced with an amazing string arrangement.
You know, I gotta play this song while at the beach and watching the sunset. I’m betting that it will make me cry. <3
I’m Alone is like a more upbeat version of Jewelry Day. I really found this song kind of dull and boring at first, but it has grown on me. I really liked how ayaka added more emotion to her voice here. She sounds like she’s going to cry at times, but at the same time, she seems angry.

Great review! I loooove this single. Jewelry day is so sad and the ending with the strings gives me shivers.
