Okay, so I’m sure that by now, I’m taking violin lessons right? So at the moment, I’m going through this “strings obsession” phase, where I am absolutely in love with string instruments and such. So I figured that this was a very good way to feature some new artists shall we?

“Daughter of a World Renowned Oboist”
Emiri Miyamoto is a Japanese Classically trained violinist who trained in Germany for 10 years. She started just when she was 7 years old after talking with her father (who plays the oboe). While I’m not a huge fan of classical music (the slow pieces at least), I gotta admit that after listening to Emiri’s debut album smile I was kinda in love with it. There are kinks here and there, but Emiri is an excellent violinist with amazing talent.

“My True Inspiration”
Yup, guess what everyone Bond is also the very first non Asian group to be featured on my blog! Congrats Bond! Anyway, Bond really is my biggest inspiration as a violinist, as these girls are amazing and truly make string music interesting. Bond is an absolutely amazing all girl electric string quartet that (starting from left to right) consists of Haylie Ecker (first violin), Eos (second violin), Gay-Yee (cello), and Tania Davis (viola). They are known as the most successful string quartet selling over 4 million albums, and for a very good reason. Bond (along with their producers) have made classical music something else. All those long boring tunes were taken in by Bond and turned into music completely suitable for Techno Dance genre, but you can call them a Classical Crossover Group. I cannot explain my love for these girls enough in just one post, so just stay tuned! I’m planning to review their Best of album Explosive: Best of Bond along with 3 special PV reviews!
wow!
you’re going to feature non-asian artists now!
well, good luck with that!

Thanks Josh.
It was about time I did this.

Broadening my field.
I have a good idea of which non Asian artist to do next.

I think you’re going to have the only blog covering JPOP/Violin thingamajiggies/Non-JPOP.
Makes for an interesting niche. xD Looking forward to your posts!

Yay! I brainwashed you to listen to some Emiri! =D. I think there’s another japanese violinist named SARINA that does like more upbeat/non-classical stuff. I haven’t had her in my computer since my computer died last year, so I don’t know if you can still find her stuff. o:
… I wished Emiri’s dad had an album (and if he did, I probably won’t find it anywhere anyways). I think that’s him playing in the album, and he’s brilliant. Absolutely brilliant *_*.
Bond is awesome.

@Raid:
Horray!
Variety! Even more than Megumi!
XD
Thank you.
@Megumi:
Yup, you kinda did.
I’ll try and see Sarinas stuff later, but there’s so little info on them they’re not event on wiki.thepnn. I also remember seeing that male violinist on J-Melo, but he seemed boring. He did provide some interesting answers to the questions meldoy. gave though.
I really haven’t heard much of the oboe, but I’d love to hear more of it outside of Emiris album.
And yes, Bond rocks.
Fuego and Explosion are on repeat.
=D

“Variety! Even more than Megumi!”
. I’m totally tempted to do some symphonic metal. XDD But that’s just me being crazy. XD
Hahaha. That’s debatable, considering I already have Jpop, Violin and Non-Jpop
And I just found Sarina’s two mini-albums awhile ago, so I can probably link you up :O! Her stuff is definitely more “mainstream” sounding.
She has a profile on last.fm
http://www.last.fm/music/Sarina
Oboe = first half of Ave Maria and the duet on the last track. I’m not totally sure it’s her dad, but since the oboe appears so many times as a duet, I kind of assumed it would most likely be him. I can definitely see why he’s a renowned oboist.

Well yeah, I guess it’s debatable.
I’m just saying that because of my obsessions posts and W!P project part.
XD
But anyway, as soon as I saw that picture of Sarina, I’m now very interested.
I like her modern sexy look, and that electric violin is pretty damn hot.
HOOK ME UP.
D:<
Although when you think about it, it most likely is her father.
I mean, her father is world renowned oboist, there happens to be an oboe in the songs, and who is the easiest person for her to contact?
XD

XD I was thinking the same thing about the oboe and her father.
XD Links have been sent to the usual location, buhahaha. I also found her website in the last few minutes:

D: I need to find more instrumental people. Bweee. FLUTISTS, ANYONE?

Oh yeah!
Thanks.
I forgot that you guys gave me the idea in the first place.
Thanks for the links too.
:3
And I’m feel instrumental people too.
>W<
Singing can get dull after a while.
I’d like to see some cellists out there.
There are violinists, but what about cellists damnit?
Kanon Wakeshima kinda counts, but there’s no news of her next single yet except that she has been working on it.
And what about viola and double bass?
Give them some love people! (even though it’s hard to actually hear them)
Flutists would be cool to.
:3
My friend plays it, so I think she’d be interested.
